Web 3 has all the ingredients for powerful network effects: its open-source nature and composable infrastructure lead to an outstanding pace of innovation. On the demand side, tokenization allows users to share in the value they create and incentivise them to grow the communities they belong to. Still, this virtuous loop needs to be backed by builders, and the shortage of builders in the open web is one of the major bottlenecks we see today.
We’re launching Fabric X to help tackle this talent shortage as we believe there is no better way to contribute to the Open Web movement.
Fabric X will be built on 3 pillars:
Partnerships with emerging blockchain ecosystems. We identify the best partners in geographies with a concentration of blockchain talent and form ecosystem funds with these platforms to support the projects created in their ecosystem.
Growing our Talent Program to invest in talent at scale. In each relevant geography, we offer funding to technical & entrepreneurial talent to let them explore opportunities in the open web for a year in exchange for the equity in the business they end up creating. We have been experimenting at a low scale in the UK for a decade. Now in France, we have already partnered with Frst to launch a proper pilot “Le Crypto Fellowship”, but this is only the beginning…
The Fabric Academy for Founders. We support founders in the areas they need it most: hiring, regulation, token design, liquidity and community building. We leverage our experience, network and research capabilities to find innovative and tailored solutions to the recurring challenges faced by early-stage open web projects.
